Flash audits in the cleaning sector – August 2023

The social inspectorates organize annual flash audits during which they check correct compliance with social legislation and labour regulations. These announced checks are mainly informative and preventive in nature, but sanctions follow in case of serious or repeated infringements. It is therefore best to be prepared.

In August 2023, these controls will take place in the cleaning sector (PC 121).

Please note that these flash checks are in addition to other possible controls by the various inspection services.

The audit can take place at the company where they will question the employer, but the check can also take place at the employee’s workplace on location. In this case, they ask the workers for information.

Documents requested during an inspection include the following:

  • Dimona
  • Labour regulations
  • Employment contracts
  • Performance and wage data in the form of individual accounts, performance lists, payment receipts, etc.
  • Documents relating to part-time employment, such as deviation register
  • Documents relating to the employment of third-country nationals

In addition, the inspection services may ask employees specific questions, such as questions regarding the employer, social insurance status, wages and working hours. Workers may also be asked to present certain documents (immediately). Think of limosa, A1, residence and work permits, unemployment documents, etc.

So make sure that all your documents are up to date and that your employees have all required documents with them when working outside the company.
